Narrowed Urine Pipe replaced for a Chronic Tobacco Chewer Patient.
March 4th, 2017 Noida: The narrowing down of urine pipe (tube) which carries urine out of body, can be really painful and the severe necessity to be fixed. A restricted flow of urine from bladder is painful and can cause various medical problems including inflammation or infection.
In normal cases, the tube can be replaced by using the oral mucosa (skin) which gets harvested from cheek’s inner surface. This has always made the surgery easy and comfortable. But, for one of the patient, who had been a chronic tobacco chewer, his inner skin was not appropriate to be used.
As a process, which did took few days, the oral mucosa was harvested from both the lips. When it reached to a well developed state, the harvested mucosa was used for surgery to replace the narrowed urine pipe for the patient by Dr. Piyush Varshney, Sr. Consultant Urologist & Andrologist at Fortis Hospital, Noida.
This proved successful operation and the patient has no pain or problems in passing-out urine.
